Wonderful indie bookstore in Reston Town Center. Staff are helpful. Children's section and a nice variety of books.

I've foolishly visited when I didn't have an unbounded amount of time to enjoy the store. I came in and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff and the sight of an impressive amount of books given the small space. But, I made it no further in than approximately 3 feet inside the door before I sat down and looked through all the kids books (my initial reason for visiting was to get some books for my nephew's birthday). While it's possible Barnes & Noble has the same books, I had just visited the new location in Reston prior to coming here and didn't have nearly the success I had at Scrawl. I'm not a kids book afficionado by any means, but while they had the well-known classics, they had so many books I had never seen before. I found a new book by Kevin Hinkes (of Chrysanthemum and Lily's Purple Plastic Purse fame), beautiful cutaway books about nature, and a precious new perspective - that of a cat - on bringing a new baby home for the first time. I got all of that and asked if they had a Dog's First Baby book as well and they were very helpful in ordering it (it arrived just a few days later with the option for delivery in the area, but I didn't want to miss an opportunity to go back). Despite the store being tucked away from the bustle of the town center, it's absolutely the best destination there. 10/10 would recommend. :)

Impressive selection of authors and voices represented on the shelves. From Hungarian to Dominican, the options are rich.

Fabulous independent bookstore, smaller in footprint but great, clearly labeled and diverse selection. Employees can help you with selections and suggestions. Great shelf cards.

The salesperson was knowledgeable about the books I was looking for. The salesperson also escorted around the book store to show the variety of books at the store. The salesperson was friendly and professional. I would definitely shop there again.

This was a great little indie bookstore. The staff was helpful and friendly. It was a bright and cheery place. The selection was good for the size of the store. The prices were what you would expect from an independent bookstore. The company aides the local library system in encouraging kids and adults to read, which is wonderful. They have teacher discounts which is kind as well. It was obvious from the first visit that they are community minded. I will return in the future.

The people who work here are so helpful. I was challenged trying to find a book my son needed for his high school English class and they took care of that problem. Plus it's just a fun place to browse.

I have visited this wonderful bookstore gem in Reston many times. Their bookshelves are literally overflowing with an amazing selection of titles in all genres. Even if they don’t have the book you need in the store, they offer free local delivery or affordable shipping to get your book to you. They offer a free and easy loyalty program that rewards you for all of your purchases. The staff are always pleasant and take time to understand your reading tastes and offer great reading suggestions. Most importantly, they have in-person author events with big names in literature, like TJ Klune! Their store is a little hard to find due to construction but they have adequate signs found near North Italia. I’m pleased that they still require masks for all patrons. You always feel safe and welcome at this independent bookstore.

It was a rainy, dreary day when I went searching for Scrawl Books (which if you’re having trouble finding them, definitely go to their Instagram for step by step instructions). Located in the Reston Town Center it is a cute little bookshop tucked away from the hustle and bustle of it all and it is definitely worth a stop. A great selection of a little of this and that and a sweet, friendly staff, stop by this cute independent bookstore and treat yourself!

Very cute bookstore. Was a bit tricky for me to find entering from the side where North Italia is at. It's small but I love the layout of the store. I found a very niche travel book here but not a huge travel section if you're looking for that. Overall, definitely worth checking out!
